
Padmasini Mugunthan, MD, is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. Her work investigates how music type can influence neural and clinical outcomes of ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant depression.
Dr. Mugunthan earned her MD with highest honors from Tambov State Medical University, Russia, and is ECFMG certified. Her broader research interests encompass clinical psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, and the application of artificial intelligence in psychiatric care. She maintains active collaborations with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) in India and SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Committed to global health, Dr. Mugunthan also contributes to the WHO Collaborating Centre in India and the Global National Surgical Policy group, where she focuses on integrating mental health into surgical care pathways in low- and middle-income countries.
